Hello 2023

Hello world. Once upon a time I did not think I would be alive right now. But here I am and enjoying life indeed.

I am living on the Big Island of Hawaii. I have a very rural acre where I have built a small house. Last year was pretty amazing here. There was a volcanic eruption about 90 minutes away that I went to check out.

Last month there was a winter storm with hurricane force winds that was super scary! I have lived through blizzards but this wind was intense. I lost a bunch of trees and a Costco garage that I was using for storage and most everything it. But my structures held and that’s what is important.

I also found my dad last year. I did 23&me in 2020 and finally figured out which second cousin was the one to make the connection. I have spoken to him and we text now a lot and it is so amazing. I want to figure out a way to visit him in Arizona but it is tricky with my job and my critters.

I got my 5th all clear MRI for the brain tumor last year. No sign of residual or recurring tumor. Now it’s two years until the next scan. Great news.

I have high hopes for 2023.
