There are no lights around me for literally miles. Looking down towards the ocean is just the night sky, filled with stars. The Milky Way is almost always visible.
Sometimes I’ll see a boat coming in late and though the ocean is 8 miles away, the light seems so bright.
Tonight I saw the fourth launch of satellites. Jeremy saw one when he was here. It looks like a line of lights, straight and evenly spaced. Now that I know what it is, it’s really cool to see.

Enjoy it for me. My time on the Big Island was, I believe, the first time I saw the milky way.
